Microsoft is teaming up with a weed financing startup called “Kind”. The two companies will join forces to develop Azure-powered cloud applications that allow plants to be tracked “seed to sale”.
Still considered a taboo by the mainstream corporations, Kind and Microsoft will try to grow the market and break through the cultural barriers. Given the fact that Microsoft is headquartered in Washington state, where it's perfectly legal to sell marijuana, the objective is to gain profits as the industry becomes additionally regulated.
What do you think? Ballsy move or is Microsoft setting themselves up for failure here?
