Pepper. That's the name of the humanoid robot developed by Belgium-based Zora Robotics, recently “hired” by the AZ Damiaan Hospital is Ostend as a receptionist.
The little robot (4'7 feet) speaks 19 languages and helps the hospital meet and greet patients. During its first week on the job Pepper was assigned to the maternity ward where people were generally positive about the robot.
A full charge gives Pepper about 20 hours of operation time and the bot's software can be controlled through any internet-connected device.
Does this little pioneer robot represent an unavoidable series of implication in our society, or do you think this is just a tech fad?
